Join us for a FREE a one-day program on how Christ truly sets us free and gives us the tools to live a virtuous and moral life. This Workshop blends scholar presentations with interactive pedagogical sessions, giving you a chance to explore content with a respected college professor, as well as simulate practical teaching strategies with ready-to-use classroom materials. Share best practices with your fellow teachers and engage in both formal and informal discussions.

Participants will simulate and engage in hands-on activities from our Teacher's Guide on the Beatitudes that will help students understand the connections between rules and freedom, and sin and virtue.

Jose Gonzalez joined the team at Sophia Institute for Teachers after more than 10 years as a high school teacher at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in Wichita, Kansas. In addition to teaching, he has also worked as a youth minister and a coordinator of Totus Tuus in the Archdiocese of Denver. Jose is also an experienced speaker and presenter whose experiences include youth and Confirmation gatherings, RCIA classes, and adult faith formation. Jose has a BA in theology with a concentration in religious education from Franciscan University of Steubenville, and an MA in evangelization and catechesis from the Augustine Institute. Jose and his wife, Mary Beth, have two daughters and a son.

Dr. Jason King is Associate Professor and Chair of the Theology Department at St. Vincent's College in Latrobe, PA. Jason’s research and writings include the topics of marriage, hookup culture, relationships, and community dynamics. He has essays in a number of journals, including American Benedictine Review, Religious Education, and Horizons. He is a blogger at CatholicMoralTheology.com. He served as coeditor of God Has Begun a Great Work in Us: Embodied Love in Consecrated Life and Ecclesial Movements. His Faith with Benefits: Hookup Culture and Relationships on Catholic Campuses was published by Oxford University Press in 2016.
