Teacher-Written Lesson

Using QR Codes in Religion

Lesson Overview

This lesson incorporates the use of qr codes to teach a short lesson on how the Church canonizes saints and the process.  The graphic organizer accompanies the video about the canonization process.  All of the information is embedded into a qr code and the student can open up the qr code by using a qr code scanner/reader app downloaded onto an ipad.  This idea can actually lead to the creation of a paperless classroom with the use of other apps like Showbie and also allow your students to create their own qr codes about a variety of Catholic Doctrine topics.  This lesson idea may relate to some important points raised in Pope Francis's encyclical, Laudato Si.
