Lesson Overview

—“A Faithful friend is a sturdy shelter, he who finds one finds a treasure…” Sirach 6:14-16

The Christian Life is best lived out in the context of relationship.  The people in our lives can be one of the biggest ways we encounter Christ in our daily lives.  When we engage in relationship with others we discover more fully who we are and come to know Christ more.  Surrounding ourselves with good people is key in helping form us into men and women of virtue.  Striving to make ourselves vulnerable and really open ourselves to genuine Christian friendship with others is a very important part of our formation as individuals. This Powerpoint will help students understand the basics of friendship, the types of friendship, the characteristics of true or virtuous friendship, and practical ways to date appropriately and in the right time.  Students will learn the value and meaning of friendship and how that can help us grow in the Christian Life.  From here students will explore how friendship can prepare us to date well which will lead us to discern marriage properly.
