  • Written by Abby Johnsen
  • Depends on project: 1-3 weeks

Lesson Overview

Students are assessed to critically think about one of Christ's parables. Various projects attached depending on academic and skill level of students. Various parable projects are attached for varying grade and skill levels.

1. Parable Paper: High School level; alloted time of 1-2 weeks depending on amount of in class work days

2. Parable Creative Projects: Middle or High School (may adjust rubric a bit if for MS); alloted time of 1-2 weeks depending on amount of in class work days. Students choose between creating a collage on powerpoint/prezi/posterboard, diorama representation, or "puppet show" act out in front of class

3. Parable Movie and paper: High School: 3 weeks or at least 3 full weekends. Group project. This is the most demanding of three options in time, resources, and productivity. Teacher could eliminate paper option. But if your kids are up for the challenge, they will NEVER forget their parable! Included in this option is a group evaluation each member filled out for each person in group (20% of grade:look at rubric) and movie award (class voted and winning group received award, candy, and free quiz pass!)
