Teacher-Written Lesson

Conditionals of God’s Unconditional Love

  • Written by Mary Dippold
  • Two Days (or two 40-minute periods)

Lesson Overview

In Geometry, learning how to write proofs is an important skill.  In preparation of this, we teach the fundamentals of logical reasoning using if-then statements (called conditional statements).

In this lesson, students will practice their use of conditional statements as well as converse, inverse, and contrapositive statements by identifying bible verses which can be manipulated into if-then statements.  Students will identify the truth value of each statement that they write.  Students will then present these statements to the class and lead a discussion on the true value of each one based on the teachings of the Catholic faith.
