Students are asked to write an introduction to their instructor. This letter requires them to explain who they are in various aspects of their lives. There is a portion of the letter that asks about their Faith, how they define it, and how it defines who they are. Before composing the letter, we discuss all of the criteria and even have a brief discussion/ brainstorm that covers the various criteria of the letter. This is a nice way for the teacher to get to know students. The letters are kept confidential.
